Gage Blocks

Gage blocks are the highest form of accuracy standards used in the quality process. QCS understands this premise and treats them accordingly. Our modern, climate controlled Metrology Lab is equipped with the latest in "State-of-the-Art" precision comparators, insuring precise, accurate readings. Additionally, our calibration masters (inch or metric) consist of a variety of primary materials used in the manufacturing of gage blocks to insure same material uniformity and co efficiency of expansion.

Upon arrival, all gage blocks are cleaned, demagnetized and inspected for any shipping or handling damage. With a special process, minor nicks and burrs are removed to further enhance surface finish, flatness and wringability. All measurements are reported in millionths and any deviation to flatness and parallelism is reported in accordance with applicable tolerances for the grade of blocks being calibrated.

To further evolve with technological advances, QCS participates regularly in "Round Robin Gage Block Measurement Surveys". These surveys are conducted at an International Level with major gage block manufacturers, the N.I.S.T., and through our A2LA Accreditation. Proudly, QCS consistently scores within the top comparison percentile with National Laboratories.
